On 27 January 2025, District Mayor of Berlin Mitte Stefanie Remlinger, commemorated victims of the Nazi dictatorship that have been largely ignored so far, including people with so-called antisocial behaviour and so-called habitual criminals.

Following the opening speech by Stefanie Remlinger, the artist Susi Claus introduced a piece from her puppet theatre “Einer von Euch” (One of You) based on anonymized contemporary witness reports. It portrays the fates of children and adolescents between colloboration, objection and deportation in Berlin between 1933 and 1945.
In his speech, the Israeli author and filmmaker Ron Segal explored the question of how to continue to talk about the Shoah if there are fewer and fewer contemporary witnesses to do this.
To mark the end of the event, Cantor Tal Koch said the Kaddish, one of the most important Jewish prayers that is recited when people are mourning.
